Red Padding project
Rotary Club of Nasik distributed reusable sanitary pads to 140 girls of Dhondegaon Ashram School. This activity was implemented by Interact Club of Fravashi International Academy. Sanitary Napkins are made available by Alcon Electronics Companys CSR Fund. Each girl was given a kit of enough pads to last two years. On this occasion, awareness was created by Samaj Bandh Sanstha on care, hygiene and diet during menstruation. Coordinator of the project, Swati Mahananda, enlightened the girls on age related physical and mental changes, female body structure and also answered their questions. Speaking at the event, Rotary President Mangesh Apshankar said that menstruation is a natural process and there is nothing vile or impure about it, and it needs to be openly discussed in the society and at home.
